18th fittest man in UT and NV

Jared just got back from a weekend of hell--also known as Crossfit Sectionals! This is a competition that asses all aspects of fitness. Jared was required to do 4 different workouts in two days. The top 20 would be sent to regionals up in Washington.

First workout:

Clean and Jerk as much weight as possible. Then you have 3 attempts to do as many muscle ups on the rings as possible without letting go or putting your feet down. Every muscle up would add 7 pounds to the clean and jerk weight.

Jared ended up cleaning and jerking 225 and doing 10 muscle ups. A total score of 295.

The second workout... the competitors were to do 5 dead lifts with 263 pounds. Then push a weighted prowler sled with 90 pounds on it (totaled 120-150 pounds about) across the width of a basketball court--on turf. Then Over-head squat 115 pounds 5 times. Then push the sled back and repeat in reps of 4, 3, 2, 1. It was fast and killer.

The third workout was called the Up and Down Puke Fest. That should say enough. First they had to do reps of 15, 12, 9, 12, 15 of thrusters (squat and press) 95 pounds. then do pull-ups and then run 200 meters. All while wearing a 20 pound vest! It was INSANE! Jared killed this workout and landed himself in 25th place out of 80.

The next day we showed up for the fourth and final workout. It consisted of 4 rounds of 750 meter row, 30 double unders (jump rope), 15 burpees (up-downs with a jump and an over head clap). Jared did so well! It about killed him, but he actually came in 10th place for this workout out of all 80 men competing!! In the end he placed 18th! And qualified to go to REGIONALS this May!!

Oh and here are the two other women that competed with Jared. Robin in the hat is Jared's training buddy, she placed in 4th or 5th over all. And Colleen, she has been training with Robin for about three years. Good job guys!
